While the Shape dashboard can be extremely useful to get a high-level overview of your performance metrics, the platform also allows you to click into your various Budgets and Clients for granular insight.
These Budget View helps you analyze current performance, compare and segment key performance indicators over time, and make edits to your campaigns.
What is the Budget View?
A Budget View is created for each Budget you add under a Client in Shape. It is a hub for each Budget in a Client where you can view the campaigns assigned to a Budget, monitor current and past performance metrics, and add or adjust campaigns as needed.
If you need to edit the Budget (for example add or remove campaigns from the Budget), it's possible to do so right from the Budget View rather than the Dashboard or Client view.
It's also possible to access the App Portal from the Budget View. The App Portal includes apps that are designed to make managing Budgets easier. Some examples include Budget Booster (a budget recommendation tool), Budget Pacer (a spend pacing tool), and Untracked Campaigns (indicates any campaigns not in Budgets in Shape).
Performance Summary
You'll find a high-level Performance Summary at the top of the Budget view. The summary shows the total budget to spend for all your campaigns in a Budget for the current Budget cycle. It also shows your estimated daily spend for the rest of your Budget cycle based on your current spend pace.
Underneath the Budget-specific metrics, you'll see a total of all of the performance metrics for the campaigns in a Budget (such as clicks, impressions, conversions, CPC, and CTR). This summary can be helpful for understanding how specific Budgets are progressing toward your KPI goals for those campaigns.
Budget Conditions
The Budget Conditions graph is designed to give you a visual representation of how your Budget is progressing compared to your ideal pace during your Budget cycle.
Similar to the Budget Breakdowns report, the Budget Conditions report is interactive and allows you to adjust the report to see different views on how your Budget is performing.
For example, by selecting spend as your chosen metric and trend as your view, Shape provides you with three key insights:
- Your daily spend growth
- Your ideal daily spend growth (based on your total available Budget)
- Your projected spend by the end of your Budget cycle
Budget Breakdowns
The Budget Breakdown is an interactive graph you can use to visualize performance metrics for campaigns under a Budget. You can compare performance metrics by campaign to see which performs best. For example, the graph lets you quickly see which of your campaigns are driving the highest number of clicks and conversions.
Decision Grid
The Decision Grid displays a breakdown of performance metrics for all campaigns in a Budget in table form. The Decision Grid shows you each campaign's status, performance metrics, and enabled automation features.
You can quickly analyze if your campaigns are on track to achieve your performance targets and adjust elements such as daily budgets, campaign statuses, and keyword bids if needed. You can even view past data cycles using the Archives tool or download the Decision Grid into Excel or CSV to create a report.
The Decision Grid allows you to toggle between campaign, ad group/ad set, ad, and keyword metrics for deeper insight into the granular elements of each of your campaigns.
Custom Values
If you've enabled Custom Values at the Client or Budget level, these are not currently viewable on the Budget View decision grid.
This is because the Budget View decision grid breaks down performance at the Campaign, AdGroup/AdSet, Ad, and/or keyword level in the Decision Grid. Custom Values are not available below Budget or Client level at this time.
