What is a One-Time Budget?
One-time Budgets track PPC campaign spend against a Budget target for a limited time frame.
An example of a one-time budget might be an online children's clothing store that wants to promote its new line of toddler bathing suits for 45 days in the springtime with a budget of $1500. In Shape, they would set up a one-time Budget starting March 15 that runs for 46 days (until April 30).
After the toddler bathing suit promotion is over, they do not want to track/run more campaigns for the line.
How do I Create a One-Time Budget?
1. Follow steps 1-4 of our guide on Creating a Budget.
2. On step 5, choose the "Custom" Budget tab and the "One Time" Budget type.
- Set a Budget start date. If the Budget starts in the future, check the "Starts in Future" box.
- Set the Budget end date.
- Enter the target Budget Amount in the bottom field and click "Next"

How does Automation Work on a One-Time Budget?
CruiseControl and SmartSync work on one-time Budgets normally. In the case of CruiseControl, Shape will utilize the budget cycle duration to calculate the ideal spend to help your Budgets archive their target Budget Amount.
AutoPilot works on one-time Budgets with one caveat.
All campaigns on AutoPilot in a one-time budget will pause on the Budget end date regardless of whether the campaigns reached the target budget amount. You will need to reactivate these campaigns manually or create a new one-time Budget after the end date if you want these campaigns to remain active.
RollOver and the Budget Scheduler do not work for one-time Budgets, as these features are designed to work specifically on monthly or recurring Budgets.
