There are multiple ways, or modes, that you can utilize with AutoPilot to keep your campaigns from overspending their target budget. However, when there are conflicting modes on campaigns and budgets, this can cause AutoPilot not to function as you expect.
Why am I receiving a "Mismatched AutoPilot Modes" email alert?
Shape members receive a "Mismatched AutoPilot Modes" email alert typically when they have enabled two or more different modes on the Budget and the campaign level.
There are three different AutoPilot Modes:
- AutoPilot Pause Only:
- Pauses campaigns when the target Budget amount is achieved. This mode does not re-enable campaigns.
- AutoPilot Pause/Enable:
- Pauses campaigns when the target Budget amount is achieved. Campaigns are reactivated at the start of the next Budget cycle or when the target amount is increased.
- AutoPilot Daily:
- This mode pauses campaigns daily through a Budget cycle when a target ideal daily Budget has been achieved. The target ideal daily Budget is calculated to help the digital advertiser hit an overall larger target Budget amount by the end of the cycle. Campaigns are re-enabled at the start of each day and run until the target ideal daily Budget is hit.
This error often occurs because an advertiser will set one mode (ex: AutoPilot Daily) on the budget level, but another at the campaign level (ex: AutoPilot Pause Only). This conflict can cause campaign status to behave in unexpected ways that could lead to over or underspending.
How do I fix this issue?
