New Constants "Days in Range" and "Months in Range" for Custom Metrics
Great News! When creating a custom metric, users can now insert two new constants into the formula. "Days in Range" and "Months in Range". What can this be used for?
1. Dynamic Calculation: Incorporating “Days in Range” or “Months in Range” into a formula allows for dynamic calculations that automatically adjust based on the selected time period. This makes the metric more adaptable to different reporting needs without manually adjusting the formula.
2. Time-Weighted Averages: These metrics enable the calculation of time-weighted averages, such as average revenue per day or month, which provide more accurate insights over varying periods.
3. Rate Calculations: They can be used to calculate rates or changes over time, such as conversion rates, growth rates, or churn rates within a specific time frame, offering more granular insights.
4. Comparative Metrics: By including time ranges in a formula, users can create comparative metrics, such as month-over-month or year-over-year growth, to measure progress or performance changes over time.
5. Normalization: “Days in Range” or “Months in Range” can be used to normalize data, making it possible to compare metrics across different periods on a like-for-like basis, regardless of the length of the time range.
6. Custom Aggregations: These metrics allow for custom aggregations based on specific periods, such as calculating the total sales for the last 90 days or the average user activity over the past 6 months, providing more relevant insights.
Custom Refresh Interval and Lookback Window Settings for EDR Providers
You can now pull data daily or more than once a day and set custom lookback windows for many EDR providers. These options give customers much more flexibility around how much data, how often to pull it, and when they get it. These options are available in the Network settings OR Mappings > Advanced, depending on the provider.
This new feature is supported in Big Query, Snowflake Share, Clickhouse, Vertica, CallRail, Call Tracking Metrics v2, and Marchex Edge. It does not include Simplifi, The Trade Desk and Nativo as these providers do not support the feature.
